Kawaseman Mitsuru Textile has been crafting textiles in Nishijin, Kyoto, for over 170 years.
Drawing on the traditional Nishijin-ori weaving techniques developed through the production of kimono and obi, we create a wide range of textiles, primarily using silk.
Intricate jacquard patterns, the natural luster of silk, complex designs, and distinctive three-dimensional textures.
We bring traditional weaving craftsmanship into contemporary textiles for fashion, interiors, and beyond.

Discover a selection of textiles created by Kawaseman Mitsuru Textile, a historic textile manufacturer with over 170 years of weaving heritage in Nishijin, Kyoto, Japan.
Drawing on traditional Nishijin-ori weaving techniques developed through the production of kimono and obi, we create luxury textiles, primarily using silk.

The textile samples shown here are silk fabrics approximately 30 cm in width.

    Nishijin-ori Collection at Milano Unica

    At Milano Unica, the international textile trade fair held in Milan, the Nishijin-ori Collection at Milano Unica was presented to showcase the new possibilities of Japan's Nishijin textile tradition to an international audience.
    Several Nishijin-ori manufacturers participated in the collection, including Kawase Man Orimono, Morisan, Taiyo Necktie, and Tomiya, each bringing their own techniques and forms of expression.
    Through this collection, Nishijin textiles are proposed for a wide range of applications, from fashion and interior design to lifestyle, bringing Kyoto's textile tradition to the international market.
