Diamond Textile is a luxury textile brand exclusively developed by Kawaseman Nishijin Textile House, a weaving house that has preserved and advanced the tradition of Nishijin weaving for more than 170 years.

Inspired by the radiant beauty of natural gemstones—including diamond, emerald, and lapis lazuli—Diamond Textile unites centuries of Japanese craftsmanship with innovative material technology. While honoring the artistry of Nishijin weaving, it creates an entirely new expression of luxury through silk.

Diamond Textile is created using Kawaseman Nishijin Textile House's proprietary patented technique, a unique innovation developed through generations of Nishijin weaving expertise.
Finely milled natural gemstones—including diamond, emerald, and lapis lazuli—are incorporated into decorative foil applied to traditional Japanese washi paper. The foil is then precision-cut into ultra-fine threads measuring just 0.3 mm in width. These delicate foil threads are carefully woven, one by one, as weft threads using traditional Nishijin weaving techniques, creating the subtle brilliance and remarkable depth of color that only gemstones can provide.
As light shifts and the viewing angle changes, the textile reveals ever-changing reflections and rich dimensionality. Unlike printed or dyed fabrics, Diamond Textile achieves a luminous depth, tactile texture, and three-dimensional beauty that can only be realized through the art of weaving.

Kawaseman Nishijin Textile House is the world's only Nishijin weaving house officially licensed by the Mucha Foundation to recreate the works of Alphonse Mucha through the art of Nishijin weaving.

Nearly a decade ago, representatives of the Mucha Foundation visited our weaving house in Kyoto's historic Nishijin district, where they experienced the unique qualities of Nishijin textiles firsthand—the rich texture of silk, the remarkable depth created through weaving, and the luminous reflections that cannot be achieved through printing alone.

Impressed by our ability to faithfully reproduce the intricate lines, delicate ornamentation, and artistic beauty of Mucha's masterpieces in woven silk, the Foundation granted its official approval. This marked the beginning of an extraordinary collaboration that continues to unite Japanese craftsmanship with the legacy of Alphonse Mucha.
